Pop and soul band Simply Red are coming to Suffolk for a live gig in Thetford Forest.
Simply Red is the first band to announce dates for 2016 as part of Forest Live, the summer concert series promoted by the Forestry Commission where acts perform in woodland locations around the country, including Thetford.
Ginger-haired front man Mick Hucknall said: “Having had a great time as part of Forest Live back in 2010, we are delighted to be returning in 2016 and hope you can join us in celebrating over 30 years in the music business.”
Forest Live is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commission to bring forests to new audiences.
Income generated from ticket sales is spent on protecting, improving and expanding England’s forests and woodlands and increasing their value to people and wildlife.
Over Forest Live’s 15 years history, money raised has contributed to a wide range of projects, from wildlife conservation to making improvements for visitors.
Simply Red plus acts yet to be announced will perform on Sunday July 3 at Thetford Forest, near Brandon.
Tickets will cost £47.50 and go on sale 9am Friday (October 23) from the Forestry Commission box office on 03000 680400, or online at www.forestry.gov.uk/music
