It was a really funny night. Funny ‘ha ha’ yes but also, just a little bit, funny weird.

Compere Jarred Christmas was certainly on form and did his best to engage in some cheeky banter with the surprisingly small and somewhat reluctant audience - many of whom sauntered in casually (and rather rudely) well after the show started.

Then first on was Justin Moorhouse discussing the trials and tribulations of using public toilets. Hilarious but there was a genuine ‘I can’t believe he said that’ moment as he chatted with a young teenager at the front.

Next up was Mike Gunn, whose dry delivery was spot on as he talked about the joys of being an older parent and how it makes you want to fake your own death – we’ve all been there.

Finally, the Canadian joke canon, Stewart Francis, bombarded the crowd with a set of non-stop one-liners guaranteed to make cheeks ache.
