FELIXSTOWE: Application forms for this year’s Summer Youth Project will be available to download from the Spa Pavilion website next Tuesday.

The theatre is staging Disney’s High School Musical, the tale of high school juniors Troy Bolton, captain of the basketball team and Gabriella Montez, a beautiful and shy transfer student who excels in math and science.

Together they try out for the lead parts in their high school musical and despite other students’ bid to crush their dreams; they inspire others not to stick to the status quo.

The project, now in its ninth year, gives budding young stars in the area aged nine to 23 the chance to stage and perform a full-scale musical under expert professional supervision.

Over two weeks the cast are put through an intensive rehearsal schedule, learning all stage techniques including performance, lighting, sound and music. In the second week they perform it in front of the paying public.
