Bushcraft Quiz Trail, Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds - all weekend, 10am-3pm

Test your bushcraft and survival knowledge on a woodland trail through Nowton Park and pick up a prize from the visitor centre at the end.

There is no need to book and quiz sheets cost £1 from the visitor centre.

Fun at Flux Freestyle, Ipswich - Monday, all weekend

Keep the children occupied with a bouncing session at the only trampoline park in Suffolk.

L is for Love...Love Your Zoo, Africa Alive! - all weekend, 9.30am-5pm

As part of the zoo’s BIAZA Love your Zoo celebrations, visit the attraction to discover the A to Z of zoo life.

Watery Wonderland, Carlton Marshes - Friday, 10.30am-12.30pm

Why not pop along for a family activity morning of dyke dipping.

Suitable for children aged three and above.

It costs £4 for children and £2 for adults.

Charsfest 2017, Charsfield Recreation Ground - Saturday, 2pm

The event will feature a mixture of a fete, stalls, fun races and tug of war. Entertainment will be provided by Faylingaye Big Band and Pete and Sharon will be singing a medley of songs from the 60s/70s, country and Elvis.

Entry is free.

Brandon Carnival, Brandon - Sunday, 11am-5pm

This year’s carnival will be taking place on the Market Hill with the main event passing through the town at 1pm.

Stallholders and attractions will include a climbing wall, inflatable arena, children’s rides, facepainting and a rodeo bull.

There will also be performances throughout the day from Zumba Lou Lou, Brandon School of Dance, Ishin Ryu Ju Jitsu and Shoestring Theatre Company.

Young wardens at Holywells Park, Ipswich - Friday, 10.30am-12.30pm

Children aged between 10 and 15 can take part in some practical conservation activities.

Thanks to Heritage Lottery Fund and Suffolk Wildlife Trust, this is a free event, but booking is essential here.

Carters Steam Fair, Promenade Park, Maldon - Friday-Sunday, 11am-7pm

Carters Steam Fair is a unique attraction as it is an authentic funfair consisting of rare vintage equipment.

The whole fair is moved around with a highly-decorated fleet of vintage lorries.

Entry is free but the rides will be charged separately.

There will also be a fireworks display on the Saturday at 9pm.

It’s A Knockout, Bourne Vale Social Club, Ipswich - Saturday, 12-4pm

It’s A Knockout is back in Ipswich this year and is being held to raise money for St Elizabeth Hospice.

Just like the original TV programme teams of 10 will battle it out across inflatable obstacle courses, to be crowned It’s A Knockout Champions.

Woolpit Steam Rally, Warren Farm, Wetherden - all weekend, 9am-5pm

The event is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, following on from the hugely successful 2016 show which saw £17,000 donated to local charities and community groups.

Woolpit Steam features a selection of rare and unusual veteran tractors including 20 pre-1930 tractors, a further 70 tractors up to 1965 and over 80 stationary engines driving an array of mills, pumps and other machinery together with a wood sawing display will all add to the atmosphere of a bygone age.

There will also be vintage cars, motorcycles, commercial and military vehicles as well as a traditional fun fair, Punch and Judy and ring programme.

Entry costs £5 for adults and £2 for children.
