Homes in a Suffolk village are set to be without landline access until after the weekend following an outage.
Properties in Acton and parts of Sudbury were without access to their broadband and landline following damage to underground cables.
Although engineers restored broadband connection to most homes in the area overnight, further work is continuing to repair the damaged phone lines.
A spokesperson for Openreach said: "Our engineers are working hard to repair third party damage, which is disrupting services in the Sudbury and Acton areas.
"This is a complex and time-consuming job and work is likely to continue for the rest of the weekend, with engineers working day and night to get it done.”
