A candidate in the recent council elections has expressed his anger after anti-Conservative graffiti was daubed on a community centre in north Suffolk.
Kev Crispin, who contested the Eye seat for the Tories in Mid Suffolk, believes he was personally targeted when the message appeared on the community centre in Magdalen Street in the town.
Mr Crispin helps run the community centre and is chairman of Eye Saints FC, which use the building as a hub.
The graffiti was discovered by police in the early hours of Saturday, with a Suffolk police spokesman confirming a teenage boy had been arrested.
A function was held at the community centre on Friday evening, with visitors asked to remove their cars from the site by 8pm.
Police were called after a driver was reported to have damaged a fence when leaving the car park at about 2am the following day.
While they were searching for the driver, with the car abandoned, they then arrested the boy after discovering the graffiti.
The front of the building contained expletives against the Conservative Party, as well as "Long live Green Party" on the side.
The messages were cleaned off the building later on Saturday, but not before an under-18s team playing a match on the pitch saw them.
Mr Crispin, a first-time candidate for election, lost the election to the Greens' Lucy Elkin as the party seized control of Mid Suffolk District Council from the Tories.
He said the incident has made him more determined than ever to pursue his political ambitions.
Mr Crispin said: "There's a lot of people who are quite upset about this. I was more angry than anything, though.
"The Conservatives have done such a good thing building up Mid Suffolk over the years.
"This sort of thing is not welcome here. A lot of people saw it before it was removed.
"I think it was personal. But it has made me more determined and enthusiastic to carry on.
"I'm new at politics, but I had a lot of things planned."
John Matthissen, of the Mid Suffolk Greens, said: "The local Green Party would never condone defacing a public building with political messages for or against any candidate or party.
"This has never happened elsewhere in the district and we hope it never will again."
