A man has been arrested after a woman was allegedly raped in a housing estate of Colchester.
The victim was allegedly attacked in a housing estate in the Abbey Fields area of Colchester shortly before 4.30am on Saturday, July 15.
A 19-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of rape.
He has been bailed to return on September 25.
The victim continues to be supported by specialist officers.
Speaking yesterday, Detective Chief Inspector Rob Huddleston said: "Officers are carrying out enquiries in the Abbey Fields area of Colchester to establish the facts.
"At this time, we do not believe there is a risk to the wider community."
Essex Police is continuing to appeal for witnesses and footage that could help their investigation.
