Lift your beer steins in the air as Suffolk pubs, breweries and rugby clubs have announced Oktoberfests for the autumn of 2023.

This world-famous beer festival was first held in Germany in 1810 to celebrate the future King Ludwig getting married. 

A huge Oktoberfest event takes place annually in Munich, but it is also celebrated globally. 

1. Beach Street

When: Saturday, September 30

Hopsters will return to Beach Street Felixstowe after a sell-out Oktoberfest in 2022, and have even more planned for an event that promises to be bigger than ever before!

Local German brewer Uli Schiefelbein will provide the beers, bratwurst and currywurst will be sold from a street food van and an Oompah band will play late into the night.

2. Isaacs on the Quay

When: Saturday, September 23 to Sunday, September 24

This Oktoberfest event is held in collaboration with ABK.

There will be German beer served in steins, a German-themed BBQ and a live Oompah band playing between 3.30pm and 5.30pm on Saturday and 3pm and 5pm on Sunday.

3. Oktoberfest Ipswich

Where: Christchurch Park, Ipswich

When: Friday, October 6 to Saturday, October 7

The UK's BIGGEST Oktoberfest is set to head to Christchurch Park, Ipswich for 2023!

With over 6000+ ticketholders expected over the two days, punters can expect traditional Bavarian food, beers, wine, Prosecco, soft drinks & spirits, and music from the Bavarian Strollers and a live DJ.

4. Nethergate Brewery

When: Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 1

This weekend Oktoberfest extravaganza is hosted at the Brewery & Distillery in Long Melford.

There will be a variety of Oktoberfest-inspired beers, local street food vendors, and exciting entertainment and live music. The food options include:

Friday: Mac St Kitchen - Mac & Cheese
Saturday: My Thai Chef & Sweenys Pizzeria
Sunday: Mac St Kitchen - Porchetta Rolls

Don't forget to don your best Bavarian attire or lederhosen – dressing up is encouraged!

5. Three Wise Monkeys Oktoberfest

This Ipswich pub is hosting an Oktoberfest taster evening - something a little less manic than some of the other events on the list.

Ticketholders will enjoy a range of authentic Bavarian beers all paired with traditional German food during the evening. Doors open at 7pm.

6. Bury St Edmunds

The Rugby Club will be transformed into a Bavarian wunderland, offering a taste of authentic German culture, traditional street food cuisine and only the best Oktoberfest beer.

Performances on the day will include Abba and Elton John Tributes, the amazing Oktoberfest Drag Fonda Cox, Interrobang Cover Band, our very own Oktoberfest DJ, and of course an amazing Oompah Band, Oompahlievable!

7. The Krafty Oktoberfest

The barn at Stanley Hall will host its first-ever Oktoberfest: Beer, Brats & Brass.

Ticketholders will have the opportunity to try authentic German food, live music from the UK's original Rock'n'roll Oompah band: Oompah Brass and award-winning, German-style beer from The Krafty Braumeister.

The price of admission (£20) includes your first drink (wine and soft drinks are also available)!
