A barber shop is returning to a Suffolk town after an unplanned closure in summer.

Oli Norman first opened On Point Barbers in Elmswell in 2020 when he was just 18 years old before expanding with a second store in Long Melford.

He teamed up with Brodie Nurse to open a third store within Sports Direct Fitness in Moreton Hall, Bury St Edmunds, in June of this year.

"That store was open for six weeks before we had to close," said Mr Norman. "We were only given two days' notice."

On August 8, Sports Direct Fitness told gym-goers in an email that it would close permanently that evening, with no prospect of re-opening.

The team at One Point Barbers were told they had to leave by the end of the week.

"We got a lot of support from our customers," Mr Nurse said. "It was unexpected but so many made the drive to Elmswell to keep coming to us."

The new barbers in Risbygate Street, Bury St Edmunds, will keep the same London-style theme to the other salons.

Mr Norman and Mr Nurse are hoping it will be open soon into the new year.
