A fashion retailer has announced the sudden closure of one of its Suffolk stores.

Peacocks will be closing down the store in the arc Shopping Centre in Bury St Edmunds at the end of the month.

It means the nearest store will be in North Street in Sudbury.

Signs put up in the shop windows say the store will be closing on Thursday, January 25.

The fashion retailer was saved in April 2021 after it was taken over by chief operating officer Steve Simpson with backing from an international consortium.

The jobs of nearly 2,000 staff nationwide were saved.

Peacocks have been contacted for further comment on the closure.
