The landlords of a village pub have announced they will be stepping away after spending four years behind the bar.

The Green Man Inn in Tunstall will be closed temporarily while new management take over.

Simon and Lucia Lucas took over the pub in 2020 after it was left shut for three years

It is the village's only pub and is right at the heart of the community.

While running the pub, Mr and Mrs Lucas have received high praise – their venue was named the best rural inn in the region at the Southern Enterprise Awards in 2023

In a post on social media, Mr and Mrs Lucas said: "As you may be aware, the pub will be under new management from March 6. We will be closed until the new owners open on March 8.

"We would like to thank all our customers for their support over the last four years and wish the new owners every success.

"Thanks again to everyone who has helped make the last four years an incredible journey."

The pub is also regarded as one of the best places for al fresco dining in the county.

The Woodbridge Road eatery has a large and spacious garden to take in the sun and enjoy a cold pint and delicious food.

The owners were contacted for further comment but declined.
