A supermarket chain is aiming to open in a Suffolk village this September.
The Tesco Express store will open in Moses Walk in Great Blakenham replacing Budgens, which closed down at the weekend.
A Tesco spokesperson said: “We’re excited to be opening a new Tesco Express store in Great Blakenham.
"We look forward to welcoming customers to the store later this year and will keep the local community updated with our plans as we get closer to opening.”
In July, the supermarket submitted plans for new signage at the store.
The plans include adding three signs to the exterior of the building, one of which will be 27.55m wide.
The shop is now in the process of carrying out a full refit of the store and has offered all Budgens staff a transfer to Tesco.
The staff who transferred are on placement at nearby Tesco stores for training before moving back when Budgens reopens as a Tesco.
The takeover comes as Tesco starts an overhaul of stores in Suffolk, renovating the shops themselves and the petrol filling stations.
