Boss Joe Sheehan described his side's 3-0 victory over Championship side Lewes as "outstanding" as Town progressed through to the fourth round of the FA Cup this afternoon.

The Blues earned a fourth round tie against Charlton Athletic after seeing off Lewes in Felixstowe, with goals from Kyra Robertson, Lenna Gunning-Williams and Ruby Doe.

Sheehan said: "We were outstanding.

"From minute one to the 100th minute, I thought we were dominant and had a great energy about us.

"I thought we had the balance of play in our favour for the majority.

"I thought we could have been three or four up by half time, and we started the second half really well.

"We managed to remain dominant throughout.

"I'm just so proud of the team.

"Those that played, those that didn't, there was an incredible togetherness, and we are really pleased to progress."

His side were up against a very physical side in Lewes, but Sheehan says his side were equal to them.

He continued: "We are such a young team but we matched them.

"We prepared to go toe to toe physically with them and I think we came out on top in a lot of them."

Both Kyra Robertson and Ruby Doe scored stunning goals in the victory.

Sheehan said: "For Kyra's I was on the pitch celebrating and for Ruby's I was at the corner flag.

"That's quite unusual for me, but I was full of emotion."

Youngster, Doe, on loan from Arsenal, was pleased with her strike.

She said: "I got the ball and I was thinking do I cross it or shoot.

"I saw a bit of face in front of me and just went for it and as soon as I hit it and it left my foot, I knew it was going in.

"It was a great performance by the team.

"We've worked hard the last two weeks, we go to training and work really hard and I feel our performance today showed that.

"We were composed from the start and the result shows that.

"I love going into tackles and battles so I don't mind the physical side of the game.

"I think every played got stuck in and everyone showed that physicality which is great."

Town were backed by a big crowd again at the AGL Arena, which Doe said really helps the players.

"You can hear them throughout the whole game," she enthused.

"It really keeps you going and the celebrations were incredible from them, it was just a really good feeling."
