Ipswich Town are now unlikely to sign Como striker Ivan Azon, manager Kieran McKenna has revealed.
Como manager Cesc Fabregas revealed on Thursday that the Spanish front man, 22, was travelling to Suffolk to complete a loan switch, with McKenna subsequently confirming his interest.
However, speaking after this afternoon's 1-1 home draw with Southampton, the Blues boss said: "The deal hasn't progressed. I won't say anything other than that out of respect to all parties. He's not a player we expect to join the club in this window."
Meanwhile, a report emerged last night that Ipswich had made a €20m bid to Danish club Nordjaelland for 19-year-old Norwegian winger Sindre Walle Egeli.
After correcting the pronunciation of 'Nordjaelland', McKenna said: "There's nothing to answer on that, honestly. He's a player not from our club.
"That's a position where we've just sold a really, really good player (Omari Hutchinson) so we're going to be linked with lot of players in that area. It's an area we want to strengthen and there will be different links. Hopefully we'll get the right player as soon as possible."
